When I get angry, I get active. Watching our
government fail the people of Louisiana after
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita inspired me to
take time off and help. I would have pushed
a broom or painted walls, but through sheer
luck, I connected with a micro-lender in
rural Louisiana who needed to document
their work with families. My documentary
exhibit was ultimately shown at a Chelsea
gallery and raised over $5,000 for Southern
Mutual Help.
